Getting Started
What is Dragon's Claw Cards?
A trading-card-game marketplace built for collectors. Buy, sell, trade, and track cards across 11 TCGs (Pokémon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Lorcana, Digimon, Union Arena, DB Fusion, Gundam, SW Unlimited, sports). Lower capped fees than eBay, every purchase covered by buyer protection, optional in-person local trades with QR-meetup verification.
What TCGs do you support?
Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Lorcana, Digimon, Union Arena, Dragon Ball Fusion, Gundam, Star Wars Unlimited, plus a sports card category. Live market prices come from PriceCharting.
Do I need an account to browse?
No. Browse the
marketplace and view sellers' public profiles without signing up. You only need an account to buy, sell, message, or save a wishlist.
How do I create an account?
Hit
Account → "Create account." Email + password takes about 10 seconds. Pick a username when prompted (you can change it once every 30 days).
I'm under 18 — can I use the site?
You can browse and use the wishlist/binder if you're 13+. Buying, selling, and Stripe-connected seller accounts require 18+ (or the age of majority in your area). This is a Stripe + payment-processor requirement, not just ours.
Fees
What's the seller fee?
10% per sale, capped at $75 (Premium: 7%, $50 cap). On top of that, Stripe charges 2.9% + $0.30 for payment processing — same rate eBay, TCGplayer, and Whatnot pass through to sellers. Both fees show as separate line items on every order so you can see exactly where each cent goes.
Are there fees for buyers?
No. Buyers pay zero fees, ever. You pay the listing price + shipping (if applicable), nothing else.
What's the cap on a really expensive card?
Free tier: max $75 per sale, no matter the price. Premium: max $50. So selling a $5,000 grail costs you the same fee as selling a $750 card. Compare to eBay where a $5k sale can be ~$650 in fees.
Are there listing fees?
No. Free to list, free to relist, free as long as you want.
Any other fees I should know about?
Optional: Promote a Listing is a paid boost that pushes your listing to the top of search and the homepage. Pricing depends on listing price, boost level, and duration — shown in-app before you commit. Skipping promotion is totally fine.
Selling
How do I sell my first card?
Open
Sell, snap or upload photos of the card, type the name (autocomplete fills set/number), pick condition, set a price, and post. The whole flow takes about 60 seconds for one card. You'll be prompted to set up Stripe payouts the first time — that takes ~5 minutes.
How do I take good photos?
Front + back, in focus, on a plain background, in good light (window light is great). For high-value cards, include a sleeve/top-loader photo and a corner close-up. Photos protect you in disputes — "the card I sent matches my listing" is much easier to prove with clear photos.
How do I price my cards?
When you select a card, the form auto-fills the recent market price for that condition (free tier: refreshed weekly; Premium: priority refresh). You can override the suggestion. As a rule of thumb, listing 5–10% below TCGplayer / eBay sold-price is the sweet spot for fast sales.
Can I sell graded cards?
Yes. Pick "Graded" in the listing form, choose the company (PSA, BGS, CGC, etc.) and grade. Graded slabs need rigid packaging — see the
Shipping Policy for what we expect.
Can I sell sealed product (booster boxes, ETBs)?
Yes. List under the "Sealed" category and disclose if anything is unusual (resealed, dented, weighed). We don't allow listings of opened-and-resealed product as new.
Can I edit or delete a listing?
Yes.
Account → My Listings → click a listing → Edit or Delete. Deleted listings can't be recovered, so double-check before deleting.
What if my card doesn't sell?
No fee. Lower the price, improve photos, or just wait. Listings stay active until you remove them. Visiting the listing analytics shows how many people viewed and saved it so you know whether the price is the issue.
Can I sell internationally?
Not at launch. We support
U.S. domestic shipping only for now. International is on the roadmap but isn't in the checkout yet — see the
Shipping Policy.
Buying
How do I find a specific card?
Top search bar on the
marketplace. Search by card name, set, or "Charizard PSA 10" / "Lorcana booster box" — the search understands TCG, condition, grade, and price ranges.
Can I make an offer instead of paying full price?
Some listings have "Make offer" enabled (seller's choice when listing). When enabled, the buy button has a "Make offer" option underneath. Sellers see your offer in their inbox and can accept, decline, or counter.
How does payment work?
Standard credit/debit card via Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover, plus Apple Pay and Google Pay where supported). Your card info goes directly to Stripe, never us. Receipt emails come from noreply@dragonsclawcards.com.
Will the seller see my address?
Only after you've paid. The seller sees your full shipping address on the order page so they can ship — same as eBay or any marketplace. Your address is not shared with anyone before purchase.
What if the seller cancels?
If a seller cancels an order before shipping, you're auto-refunded in full to your original payment method (5–10 business days to appear in your statement, sometimes faster). The listing also reactivates so someone else can grab it.
Shipping
What shipping options are there?
All USPS. Plain envelope (~$0.68 stamp, no tracking) for cards under $5. Ground Advantage (~$4-5, $100 insurance) for $5-50 cards. Priority Mail (~$8-10, $100 insurance free) for $50-500. Priority Express (~$25, overnight) for grails.
Do I have to use Shippo?
No. The platform makes it easy with one-click label printing, but you can ship your own way. Just paste a tracking number into the order to mark it shipped.
Can I offer free shipping?
Yes. Pick "Free shipping (seller absorbs cost)" when listing. You can also set a "free shipping over $X" threshold so buyers get free shipping if they buy enough from you in one cart — like TCGPlayer.
How long do I have to ship?
Ship within 3 business days to keep buyers happy and grow your seller tier. The hard deadline is 14 days — if you haven't shipped by then, the buyer is automatically refunded and your listing returns to active.
Can my store name show on labels?
Yes. In
Settings → ship-from, set a "Store / business name" — it'll print as the return-address name instead of your personal name. Great for branding.
Payouts
How do I get paid?
Stripe deposits your net payout (gross sale − marketplace fee − label cost) directly to your linked bank account on a tiered schedule: 14 days after a sale for new sellers, 10 days once Established, 7 days once Verified.
Why the payout delay?
Standard buyer-protection window. If a buyer reports the package never arrived or the card is wrong, we have time to make it right before the money leaves your account. The delay shrinks as your seller tier grows (14 → 10 → 7 days), and most platforms (eBay, TCGplayer, etc.) do the same.
What's "Stripe Connect"?
It's how we get money from buyers to sellers safely. Your bank info stays with Stripe, never us. Setup takes ~5 minutes (ID verification + bank linking).
Refunds & Disputes
How do I refund a buyer?
On the order page, expand "Something wrong with this order?" and pick a reason. For multi-card orders, you can refund specific items instead of the whole thing. Refunds process via Stripe instantly.
Buyer opened a dispute. What happens?
You have 48 hours to respond. You can offer: full refund (auto-processes, dispute closes), partial refund (auto-processes), reship, or decline. If you don't respond in 48h, it auto-escalates to admin review.
I bought something but haven't gotten it. What now?
If the seller hasn't shipped within 14 days, your payment auto-refunds — no action needed. If it was shipped but never arrives, open a dispute on the order page and we'll help track it down or refund you.
Can I escalate a dispute to admin?
Yes. After the seller responds, hit "Escalate to admin" if their offer doesn't work for you. Admins step in within 24-48 hours.
Binder & Wishlist
What's the wishlist?
A list of cards you're hunting. When a matching listing hits the marketplace, Premium members get a real-time alert — by email and in-app. Free users can save a wishlist, they just don't get the live alert.
What's the trade binder?
Cards you'd swap with another collector. Other users can browse your public trade binder from your profile and message you. Pair it with the wishlist for matching ("you have what I want, I have what you want").
How do wishlist alerts work?
Each card in your wishlist runs a continuous match against new listings. When a Premium-eligible match goes live (right TCG, right condition or better, within your max price), you get an email and an in-app banner with a direct link to buy. Set a max price per card to filter out overpriced matches.
Is my binder public?
Public/private toggle. The Trade Binder defaults to public so other users can find you for trades. Toggle it from
Binder at any time.
Trust & Safety
How do you prevent fake / counterfeit cards?
Sellers must upload clear photos of the actual card. Buyer Protection covers counterfeit claims — if you receive a fake, open a dispute with photos and you'll be refunded. Repeat offenders are banned and reported to law enforcement and Stripe. The seller-tier system also caps new sellers' listing prices to limit exposure on day-one accounts.
Are sellers verified?
All sellers complete Stripe Connect KYC (government ID, tax info, bank info) before they can receive a payout. So while we don't run a separate verification, every seller has been ID-checked by Stripe. Profile pages also show seller tier (New / Established / Verified) based on sales count + rating + chargeback history.
What's the seller tier system?
Three automatic tiers based on track record:
• New seller — under 10 sales or 30 days. 14-day payout hold.
• Established — 10+ sales, 4.5★+, no recent chargebacks. 10-day hold.
• Verified — 50+ sales, 4.7★+, no chargebacks in 90 days. 7-day hold + a "Verified Dragon" badge.
Tiers update automatically as your sales history grows.
How do I avoid scams?
Stay on-platform. Buyer protection only covers payments made through our checkout. Off-platform deals (Venmo / CashApp / Zelle / etc.) have zero recourse if you get scammed. Anyone asking you to pay outside the site is showing you a red flag — report them.
Someone's harassing me in messages.
Hit the Report button at the top of the conversation. Our trust & safety team gets the message thread instantly and reviews within 24h. Bad-faith users get warned, suspended, or banned.
How do I block someone?
In their conversation, hit the Block button. They won't see you in inbox or be able to message you. They can still see your public listings.
How do I verify a local trade actually happened?
At the meetup, one party hits "Generate QR" in your in-app conversation. The other scans it with their phone — it confirms both parties are physically together. Verified local trades let you leave a "Verified" review.
Taxes
Will I get a 1099?
If you cross the federal or state threshold for marketplace sellers, Stripe issues you a 1099-K directly — they're the payment processor of record. Update your tax info during Stripe onboarding (or anytime in Stripe Express). Federal threshold has been moving recently; current state thresholds vary.
Do I owe taxes on my sales?
Probably yes — sales of personal property at a profit are taxable income. Sales at a loss generally aren't deductible (hobby vs. business rules apply). We're not tax advisors — talk to a CPA or use TurboTax / FreeTaxUSA. Keep records of what you paid for cards (cost basis) so you can calculate gain/loss accurately.
Do you collect sales tax?
In states with marketplace facilitator laws, yes — sales tax is calculated on the buyer's checkout total and we remit it to the state automatically (the buyer's receipt shows it as a separate line). In states without those laws, sellers handle their own sales-tax obligations. See
Section 6 of the Terms for the full picture.
How do I get my tax info from Stripe?
Sign in to
Stripe Express with the email you used for your Connected Account. 1099 forms (when issued) and yearly transaction summaries live there.
Premium Membership
Is premium worth it?
Pays for itself if you sell more than ~$200/month. Premium drops fees from 10%/$75 cap to 7%/$50 cap, plus you get wishlist alerts (live notification when matching listings hit the marketplace), bigger collection limits, and priority price refreshes.
How much is it?
$9.99/month. Cancel anytime in
Account → Premium. No commitment, no fee to cancel, you keep premium until your billing period ends.
Can I cancel?
Anytime. Click "Cancel subscription" in your premium card. Premium stays active until the end of the current billing period.
